ABOUTHow we work
OUR MODEL Therapy with intent
At Still Moving we provide focused, short-term therapy.
Rather than open-ended exploration, we work with you to build a clear picture of who you are, what drives you, and what gets in your way.
We'll give you frameworks, tools, and between-session practices - but the work happens in your life, not just in the room.
You are the agent of your own change. We're here to hand you the map
WHY SHORT-TERM THERAPY?Honestly, because most people don't need therapy forever, they need good therapy for long enough.
↓Two things bothered us about therapy in Melbourne. People wait for months. Then stay for years.
Open-ended therapy has its place, but for a lot of people it often drifts into indefinite weekly catchups without a clear treatment arc. This means less progress, more cost and longer waitlists.
Short-term doesn’t mean shallow. Knowing there's an end point doesn't limit the work, it sharpens it.
Who this is for.
| YOU'RE A GOOD FIT IF… | WE MAY NOT BE THE RIGHT FIT IF… |
|---|---|
| You want honest, direct feedback | You’re currently in acute crisis |
| You want to understand yourself more deeply | You need long-term or open-ended support |
| You want practical tools, not just insight | You’re looking for a space to vent without change goals |
| You’re willing to try new ways of thinking and behaving | Your needs require intensive treatment |
| You’re ready to actively work between sessions | You’re less than 18 years of age |
How Still Moving differs.
In some therapy, the therapist says very little. That's a valid approach, but it's not ours. Here, your therapist shows up as a guide, a teacher, and an active participant.
Less "what do you think you should do?" More "here's what I'm seeing - let's work with it."
They'll share frameworks, name patterns, offer their clinical read, and sometimes give you a direct answer. Because you're not here to figure everything out alone.
You're here because you want a thinking partner who actually brings something to the table.
